Dr. Bounds is an wonderful and very helpful instructor, even calling me at night when I emailed him a problem.     Mr. Kirkland was a little difficult to understand at times and wasn't clear on all instructions.

I really enjoyed the course and I hope to have Dr. Bounds again in the future.

If there were to be more examples because there were plenty of people confused about the salary assignments- week 6.

Professor did not provide feedback in a timely manner. Assignments were asking for information the school district refused to provide or did not have. Overall rating of the course is poor. Teacher did not interact with the students and almost never responded to questions posted. Would not recommend this professor to other students. Assignments were too lengthy.

The course was expectations were laid out very clearly. The videos that Dr. Bounds gave us were especially helpful. I felt the material we covered was relevant and practical. The only suggestion I have is that on the particularly hard assignments like the school budgets that more directions be given. That was such a detailed assignment and I felt at a loss at times as to the requirements. But for the most part, this course was well-planned, well-administrated, and beneficial.

The experience could have been better. I would have appreciated an opportunity to work directly with my electronic TA

The number of assignments actually required so much time, well above the nominal 20 hours per week, that much of the reading and learning of the material suffered.

# 11 I disgreed with because I had no feedback from any classmates on the discussion forum or classroom connections.  I ended up talking with my AA or Dr. Bounds. Thank you two for all your help!

Although this class was a challenge, I do feel I was able to keep up and learn with the help of the professors video examples.

Answers in the key were wrong, could not trust whether or not I was doing problems correctly

At first, I thought I would fail this class, not because of the instructor, but because it was my first encounter with statistics.  The class is challenging, but I appreciate what I have learned.  I feel the instructor did his best to  please every student that was having problems with classwork.

CONFUSING and FRUSTRATING are the two words I would use to describe the instruction for this class.

Dr. Bounds did an excellent job making all the formulas easy on excel.  I enjoyed his teaching and the book was awesome. Good job Dr. Bounds

Dr. Bounds was very fair and did his best to correct any issues that were present in the class.  Overall a good experience.

Enjoyed the class

Everything was great.  Learned alot.  Had a headache at first with all of the incorrect answers on tests.

good class

He is a hoot!!

He was fair is dealing with the problems that occurred in the program and test.

I am glad I didn't fail

I asked a question over three times and never received an answer. I struggled all the way through this course and never really received help.

I did not receive feedback on my submitted work, therefore, feedback did not assist me in learning course content.  The videos, except for lesson 14 study questions, were straight forward and helped me a lot.  Only a little bit of redundant, to me.  The professor is knowledgeable and explained things in the videos very well.

I enjoyed learning statistics, but the disorganization of EPIC w/ incorrect files, test answers, etc. caused me a lot of wasted time that I didn't really have to give.

I felt that the assignments were too long and complicated, but I did learn a lot in spite of having to struggle.

I really feel like i gained better understanding in the area of statistics and can apply it to research projects.  I like how the lessons were broken down to focus on the different types of statistics.  It wouldn't hurt for the instructor to use excel 2007 though...and feedback from the quizzes would be useful.  However, I do understand that you allow retakes not allowing the students to view the correct answers.

I thought that the course layout online was too complicated and too many items under each week. Please consolidate!!! There were mistakes made on tests but we were given credit for them.

If the errors are corrected in the course, I would highly recommend this professor.

It was a pleasure having Dr. Bounds.  He explained statistics very well and I learned alot of information.

It was difficult to to complete practice assignments when there were no answers to check for understanding. Quizes were improperly scored leaving doubt as to understanding the content. Worst class ever.

Lessons and videos were hard to find on EPIC. There was consistently a question that had the wrong answered entered in EPIC.

LOTS!! of errors in the test, broken links and major confusion on many of the lessons and test.  However, he did give points back for the errors on the test.  THIS CLASS WAS VERY HARD!!

Many had trouble downloading materials.  Too much assigned per week.  Unbelievably difficulty level.  And, Statistics IS a math course!!!!

Multiple versions of syllabus and assignments' rubrics were confusing.  Page numbers of readings were different between emails and EPIC. It all made the first 2 weeks of the course VERY confusing.  However, multiple emails from the professor later... all was straightened out.

Not sure why this course is included in the educational theory and practice outline. It did not seem very applicable.

Not very organized, this is my 2nd on line class and I am really worried they will all be like this and it makes me want to drop out!

Professor explained concepts well and provided plenty of oportunities for sucess.

Rocky start without getting the add-in to work then it was much better.  Some of the videos shut down my computer sometimes so I had to go to a friends house in order to view them.

Several of the tests had wrong answers; this was confusing. We also did not receive feedback on the first tests for quite some time and this made it difficult to know what was misunderstood or not learned during the lesson. Twice the professor's presentation of the material did not correspond with the textbook, and I was confused as to which method I should use and it was reflected on my tests. I did, however, make an A in the course, so these difficulties could be overcome.

So many mistakes!!! I can't even begin to count them. Most frustrating things: Data Analysis doesn't work right on MACs & study questions that had no answers to check.

So much material for such a short period of time.  Maybe Stats 1 and Stats 2.  I had to lay down almost everything to get this course done.  I put many, many hours into this class.

test answer issues - please give feedback!

The course lacked organization and had a lot of mistakes including inaccurate test answer keys and links that were not clickable.

the disorganization had me flustered for the first 2 weeks.

The instructor was not very good about answering questions, stating that they had already been answered. Sometimes they were answered minimally and at times came across as rude.

The professor is very knowledgeable in his content area.  However, the organization of the the first week was poor. The amount of information posted under week one was ridiculous.  It was easy to lose track of where you were and what you did. T  If I had taken this course first in the program, I would not have taken another course.  I probably would have dropped out.  The last two weeks were the best.  The lessons were explanatory, short and gave direct instructions.

The professor was knowledgable about Statistics, but did not know how to explain the subject well.  The exams answers were very tricky and not explained as to how to answer them.

The professor's knowledge and videos are excellent, and the book was interesting to read; however, the layout of the course was so stressful, that the class was much harder than it had to be.  I studied hard and learned what I needed to learn, but I still got have a lower grade than I deserve because of the problems with the tests and miscommunications.

The research paper was a lot of work and did not add to my knowledge of the statistics.

The text and video cohesion was sloppy and the syllabus at first didn't reflect our new textbook.  There were numerous errors in the test questions.  Until these situations were resolved it was very frustrating in a subject (math and computation) that can be very difficult to begin with for many students.

There was a lot of confusion with wrong answers on tests and disorganization.  I feel a class should be ready to go when it starts, not changing during the course.

There was no feedback on missed quiz questions unless posted in classroom connections. I would have liked to simply see the correct answer once the test was completed.

There were many mistakes in testing materials and video learning sessions.  This course is too technical for any master's of education program.

There were many mistakes on the quizes and in the videos. The instructor had a fantastic knowledge of the information being taught, but, at times, seemed unorganized. The lack of organization was very frustrating.

There were too many quizzes. The course was too stressful. Some correct answers were marked wrong.

This class was a beast for a non-math teacher like myself.  I do, however, feel more capable of conducting my own research.

This course does not make effective use of time-management.  Several concepts were explained in great length and then later presented using Excel.  While I appreciated using Excel, I was frustrated by the time it took to watch the lengthy mathematical explanations when they were not needed for the exams.  I feel that several hours of studying could have been spared.  In addition to this, not all of the explanations were consistent with the text which created a lot of confusion.

This course was extremely difficult from the get go. From the organization of the course to his delivery, I had a very difficult time deciphering what I was supposed to do and how to do it. I finally had to hire a very expensive tutor to help me get through this course. I stayed confused and spent hours upon hours working on all the work. This course is way too overwhelming!!

This course was so disorganized.  There were so many mistakes that were made.  I understand that no one is perfect and that this is not a perfect world, but the number of mistakes that were made was just unbelieveable.  This added to the confusion and anxiety.  I think the coursework was too much in such a short amount of time.  I realize that this is a graduate course, but I think more could have been gained by slowing down a bit and having time to provide more feedback about the lessons.  Mr. Bounds seems to be a very nice person.  I know that I put that I would not recommend him as a professor to other students, but if he could become better organized I think he's a fine instructor.

This course was very confusing. There was always something that was wrong and this made me not want to learn.

This course was very difficult for many reasons.  The subject matter was difficult, but the required technology did not work properly, the quizzes contained multiple mistakes, the answers to specific questions were not answered sufficiently and the entire 5 weeks was filled with confusion and frustration.

This is the most unorganized class I have EVER taken.  Thank God it is over!

This professor refused to provide corrective feedback on assignments once graded because some former students cheated giving others the correct answers.  When I recieved a 63 on a test I took it to a professor at Rhodes here locally and she could not figure out why some of my answers were incorrect...after a 2 and 1/2 hour tutoring session with her I retook the test only to get the exact same score because I had no feedback and I was unable to understand how to correct problems "his way".   I would like to suggest having students take the exams at a testing center if you are worried about cheating but refusing to answer student questions because others may be retaking the test is not what this degree program has advocated as a "best practice" form of teaching.

This started out as the most unorgainized course I had ever taken. The mistakes that were made, made it very difficult to get into any kind of rythm in this course.

This was my second course.  First one was excellent.  This one lacked organization and clarity

This was too advanced for online course, if math is a weakness for you.  Too much information to be digested in order to really learn the dynamics.

Too many items were posted incorrectly, mislabeled, difficult to find, or not available to download making it extremely confusing to the student to figure out "what was what."  Too many mistakes were present in the exams, the study questions, the videos...careful proofreading needs to be conducted.  The course still needs much work in terms of organization and presentation of material on-line for the student.  The research paper was not necessary to ensure student understanding of this material.

Too many mistakes on the exams.

unorganized, many exams had mistakes, difficult to know exactly what grade I was earning due to all the mistakes, video lectures had sound and picture problems (clicking, popping noises and not clear pictures)

Very unorganized

Videos for those using MacBooks (StatPlus) would be very helpful. We were at a disadvantage since we did not have the exact same program as you.

We continued to ask for the ability to view the correct answers to the questions we missed on these crazy tests, but never got to see them! So I still don't understand why I missed several questions.  It would have definitely enhanced my learning had this been an option.

We didn't really interact with others through discussion, so that is why I chose disagree for that question.

Dr. Bounds has proven to be an easily accessible professor who provides quick responses to questions and makes himeself available for questions, comments, and phone calls at any time.

There was only one time that I received feedback on things that I submitted.  I have no clue how I have been doing in class based on written assignments.  I got my test score as soon as test was over.  Not a clear rubric was set for the research paper.  If there was one I did not find it.

I enjoyed the class.  Dr. Bounds was prompt with feedback when I had questions about assignments are projects.

Very professional, easy to communicate with, prompt with responding to emails, and extremely knowledgable of the material!

Statistics is a difficult course to take online and given the choice again, I'm not certain that I would take it online.  However, Dr. Bounds made it as painless as possible.  I've already recommended him to SEVERAL students who are planning to take this course this summer and will continue to recommend him.

Dr. Bounds was very prompt in returning e-mails and answering questions.

The videos really help to understand the complex subjects.

It is not a class that should be taken over the inet.  The instructor demonstrated knowledge of the material, but a lot of us students wwere lost and relied a lot on each other to pass the class.

great educator

Dr. Bounds was exceptional at betting back with us asap when anything would go wrong with the computer or when we had questions.  I was very impressed with his ability to make something that to me is extremely complicated seem simple when he worked out an example.  I enjoyed it, but the class load was heavy.  Not an online class that I would recommend to students who are not willing to work and stay caught up on their work.
